I believe you can only upload jpg photos to Facebook.
I have a bunch of old photos from pre-digital days that I’d like to add to FB.
What’s the easiest way?

Either snapshot them or scan them into jpg format.
I love my hand held wand scanner for things like that. Really easy and fast and I can use a USB cord to upload the photos quickly.
I have a printer/scanner/copier, I scan old photos and then upload to facebook.
I can scan them at work but then they are not in jpg form. How do you get them in jpg form?
I scan them. I think I scan to jpg? Or, maybe Facebook takes pdf? I can check it later.
If you want to switch something to jpg try going to the photo and when you save, right below where you type the name of what you want to call the save go to the pull down thingy and see if jpg is an option.
There should be an option on your“Save as” function on the scanner to save as a jpeg. Otherwise, you can bring them into a photo editing program like Adobe and save them there. Or bring them onto the desktop and right click and there should be a “save as” function.
Use a scanner. I don’t know if I have seen one made in the last ten years that will not allow .jpg.
The Sam’s Club in my area has a high speed scanner that you can use for free. It will give you .jpg and put it on your own thumb drive or SD card. I guess they figure you will print your pictures there once you have them in digital form.
Walgreens might have it too.
My scanner at home has an option to save as pdf or jpg. Have you looked at the scanner’s settings page?
Warning: The scanner at your office very likely saves at least a thumbnail version of everything it scans, with a date and time stamp. Make sure you do it when you are not on the clock.
You can also just take a picture of the picture with your phone if you need it quick and dirty.
Load irfanview – great, easy, free photo software. Once you’ve got the photos on your computer, run them through irfanview and convert them to jpeg as you save them. It’s almost impossible to mess up. Super-easy.
@LuckyGuy notes, you want to be cautious about doing the scanning on equipment at work.
@BellaB mades a great suggestion. I, too, use Irfanview. It allows me to edit before I save.
