Is Colbert right? Has Ringling Brothers decided that it's hopeless competing with Trump?
Apparently even elephants and a big top cannot blunt the draw of the greatest and most spectacular clown show ever. It’s only fitting that our kids can grow up focused on the great circus in the nation’s capitol.

Trump is beyond satire. When the real becomes surreal, there is no competition. Trump is now the elephant in the room, ridden by Putin rather than a scantily clad young woman.
3 more days and the Big Top will be open! Can’t wait! WOOT!
No. Ringling Bros. is closing due to thirty years of steadily dropping ticket sales (as folks have lots of entertainment options now), high costs of running the circus (including running a traveling school for the children of the performers), and pressure from animal rights groups (which led them to stop the elephant acts recently).
The Big Apple Curcus is also looking for buyers for all their animals, equipment, and intellectual property.
It’s sad in a nostalgic sense, but the circus is really a relic of a bygone era. Plus, the treatment of the animals is really a concern.
It will soon go the way of vaudeville and silent movies.
It is a show that even countries from outside are holding their breath to see what the FUCK he will say or do next type thing.
So how could any circus compete with that?
The circus has been in Washington for quite some time now. Trump didn’t bring it and I doubt he’ll be able to shut it down. The clowns may be packed in limo’s but they’re just as scary.
Good one! Yes, Trump’s a clown and a performing orangutan, both rolled into one package.
An elephant produces 150 pounds of crap per day.
Depressingly similar to what we hear from the president elect.
Best rhetorical question I’ve ever heard!
@LuckyGuy But, you’re not referring, in any way or manner, to our beloved @Pachy ?!?! (Tee-hee!)
We took the kids every year to the Big Apple Circus when it was in NYC. I’m sorry to see it go but even sorrier that the show has moved to Washington.
