Why does being dressed overly warmly at the bar make me drunk faster?
If I’m at a pub and I wear extra warm clothes I get flushed and feel rather hot but I also get drunk faster! It’s a little trick I use to save money, but why does that happen?

I am not a doctor and only answering on how I know how esters/alcohols behave when heated as they will become more volatile the warmer they get. And if you are layered in warm clothes while drinking, then your body temp may/should/will rise which will facilitate your arteries and veins to relax and let this warmer cocktail of blood and alcohol course through your veins and ultimately rush to your brain much more readily where the dopamine response of the brain that reinforces the “good” feeling alcohol provides to your brain hence this increase “buzzy” feeling. Be aware this ‘warm fuzzy’ invites future recurrences of this experience. In the morning you can ask why your skull hurts so bad.
Maybe you’re thirstier when you’re warmer. Try eating a good meal before you go and top off that meal with a large glass of milk.
Higher body temperature increases your metabolism. The warmer you are, the faster you will metabolize any food or drink you put in your body.
That means not only will you get drunk faster, but the reverse as well.
