Are my dreams (and/or the feelings I awaken with) more indicative of real problems in my life, or things I worry about that might not be valid?

The dreams I have, whether I remember them or not, are seldom as relevant as the way I feel in them. Usually my dreams involve schemes I’m involved in that I see no way they will work out, and no way out of therm. The “storylines” of the dreams, if there is any, are pleasant enough, but the feelings are just bad, worrysome.

I awaken with feelings that I have made terrible financial and life decisions that cannot work out and will fall to pieces. There IS some truth to this. I have overstretched myself financially and may have shortfalls by the end of the month, and feel that maybe my life ISN’T going in the right direction.

After getting fully awake, and interspersed throughout the day, consciousness affirms that I have made the best decisions I could under the circumstances, and alternatives would have been worse, if there even were any alternatives. I get more focused on solutions, and the knowledge that things usually work out. But actions needed are full of conflict, strife, and may be beyond my capabilities.

I often encounter reality in the day that rekindles the bad feelings in my dreams and the way I feel in the morning upon awakening,

So, my question is, do dreams and subconscious feelings indicate real problems, or subconscious worries and doubt?

Both. In fact, EVERYTHING you see, hear, feel, think, imagine and experience is grist for your dreams.

Dreaming is the result of your brain sorting out what it wants to remember. Not real problems, exactly, but indications of things you think and worry about.

I think it’s both. Some dreams are about something you are worried about. Others are just random things.

Sounds like you’re stressed out. Many of us are. You aren’t alone.

As you said, you think you made the best of some bad situations. That’s all you can do sometimes. And knowing that you did your best should provide some comfort to you.

Maybe you could try listening to some relaxing music before bed, or using some breathing techniques for calm…

I try to fall asleep to movies I like,or nature documentaries. It keeps my mind off of my problems.

Sleep is important. Good luck.

Peace n love.

From what you have told us it seems the bad feelings in your dreams come from the bad feelings you have during the day. These bad feelings come at least partly from financial concerns as bad feelings so often do. It helps if you can be honest and discuss your situation in all its aspects with those closest to you. Deciding on a course of action, even a difficult one, may be all it takes to blow away the negative feelings afflicting your dreams.
