What is the movie you would most want to be remade, either as another movie or TV series?

None that I can think of. I’m not a fan remakes. I can’t recall ever seeing one, either a movie or a TV series, that I liked as much as the original, and that especially includes all the great ‘50s sci-fi movies I grew up on that didn’t have to depend on CGI.

Cool hand Luke…no brainer. Papillion would be great with gritty directing…wait…the original was freaking gritty. Ok..
How about Midnight Cowboy…or have Carrot Top direct a Hitchcock thiller. Help…can someone turn on some cold water to the hot tub??...I think it might be time to towel off….

Implicit in a “remake: is that it is as good as, or better than, the original. But that is so rarely the case.

Movies with a thread for an ongoing story, however, can make great TV shows. I would love a series based on the back story and ongoing entanglements of “Casablanca.” Call it Rick’s Place.

Serenity was the best scifi movie this century to date. I cannot believe one TV season and one film are all the firefly we are going to get.

I’m not crazy about remakes – prefer to watch the original. I do love the new version of “Sherlock” with its original twists and turns and hope there is another series of it, even though it leads to big arguments between dappled_leaves and me. And I got my wish with 4 new episodes of “Gilmore Girls.” Since they left the last one with a cliffhanger, I’m hoping there will be more.

I’d like to see Art School Confidential remade as a sitcom.
