Only tell me if it is going to be in the app store. No jail-break only apps please.

There’s just no way to know that. Every app in the app store has to be approved by Apple. So even if there’s one in development, there’s no guarantee it’ll be approved.
1. someone has to decide to make it
2. someone has to code it
3. Apple must approve it, and i’m not sure if they would approve a video recording app. Actually i have a feeling they wont.
wilhel1812; why do you have a feeling they wont?
@jballou, wihel1812
They approved Netshare which violates the AT&T contracts and I am rich, the app that costs 999 dollars and does NOTHING.
@fortris
You are correct. They did approve those apps. (They have both been removed as well, by the way) Apple protects the integrity of the phone and its operating system, they have no responsibility to protect AT&T contracts, nor would they necessarily be familiar with them. Besides, AT&T is only one of several cell phone service providers that carry the iPhone worldwide. If an app violates a contract, it’s up to the cell phone service provider to notify Apple, who will then take the app down.
What exactly is your point in bringing up those apps?
@jballou BECAUSE THEY APPROVED THEM TO BEGIN WITH. They obviously arn’t testing them.
Apparently, the people over at http://qik.com are coming out with a legit iPhone version for video recording. They already have one for the jailbroken version. Once they do, i dont see why apple would not approve them. A video recording app does not seem to violate any of the app store rules.
@fortris
eh… Don’t know where you’re getting your information from, but you’re 100% dead wrong. Apple checks each and every App before it becomes available in the App Store. The apps you mentioned were approved because they weren’t harmful to the iPhone itself or Apple’s software.
There are tons of apps right now waiting for approval or that have already been denied. The apps you brought up were removed because of ethics/contracts, not because they didn’t work. They worked just fine and didn’t violate Apple’s policies, so they were made available.
A video recording app might be in cards for the App Store, it might not. We don’t have any way of knowing unless someone who is actually developing it comes forward and says so. Whether or not a video recording app ends up in the App Store has nothing to do with the Apps that are already there- it has to do with whoever decides to develop it.
@jballou You just proved my point. They don’t check them closely, they just approve it as soon as it doesn’t give it a virus. As to any defence you have, there is an app that does nothing other than moo when you poke the screen. I could make better crap than that.
Dude, I’m not arguing with you- I was just trying to answer your original question! You asked if there was going to be a video recording app.
The answer is nobody knows! I don’t know why you brought up those other apps in the fist place!
I do know that apps that access and use the hardware of the iPhone (such as the GPS, the accelerometer, or the camera) have a harder time getting approved because their potential for mayhem is higher. That’s the only thing I could see standing in the way of an Apple-approved video recording app.
Okay fine, but I STILL think its gonna be in the 2.1 or 2.2 update.
@ klaas4 Copy and paste is supposed to be in 2.1 so shuddap.
OK, bye then. (btw: don’t trust rumors, I heard some are fake!!!)
Copy and paste was found in the firmware code, so most probably it’s coming.
Actually there are developers working on it. Oh and Apple is not going to make copy and paste any time soon.
It is true, but we have no idea when. It might happen at macworld, or it will be a silent update. apple knows… :)
