Why does the last bit of pop in the container taste so good?

The last swallow is nothing but your own spit.

A little syrup on your pancakes is pretty good.

Filling your mouth with it isn’t as good.

Soda is pretty sweet stuff, we take it for granted because of the quantity it’s sold in and consumed, but sweet is usually better when it isn’t overpowering.

Same reason the last line of cocaine is better. Try the last drink when a fresh can is in the wings.

Great question! I’ve noticed that all my life. Especially with bottled Coca Cola. Maybe it’s just the realization that it IS the last drop.
