For intellect and general historical greatness, Thomas Jefferson.

For “what a great guy-ness”, Teddy Roosevelt. Yay national parks!

For general, “egads I’m glad he was president then and I wish he was again,” Franklin D. Roosevelt.

John F Kennedy. He wasn’t perfect but he represented an America that still had faith in itself.

FDR. he accomplished a lot, in very bad time, even against the republican opposition.

We need an FDR today.

If I go with the best in my lifetime, it would be Reagan and Eisenhower. I liked Kennedy but he was pretty wild and brought us closer to nuclear war than I would like to see in this day and age.

James Buchanan, because he was fucking fabulous.

TJ Thomas Jefferson. He popularized macaroni and cheese in the United States.

FDR for getting shit done.

And another vote for TR, too. He was born wealthy but fought wealthy interests. He treated African Americans as people, using Booker T. Washington as an advisor.

Yeah, they weren’t perfect, nobody is, especially when your job is juggling the interests of all America, the other branches, and world events.

In all seriousness, I’d probably have to go with the two Roosevelts overall.

Lots of Roosevelt fans here…

LBJ was a great president for domestic policy and a failure for Vietnam.

Cartoon depictions of poor people with torn clothes and no shoes were reality in 1950s America. Thanks to President Johnson and the War on Poverty, we don’t have many people living like that, without electricity and heat.

With Medicare, our elderly have health care.

He blew it on Vietnam, but LBJ was a huge success with the War on Poverty, Medicare, the Civil Rights and Voting Rights acts cannot be ignored.

I’m with the Roosevelts and Jefferson, too.
