I’ve been doing art off and on all my life and watercolor for about 20 years. In the past year or so, I have begun to feel like I am starting to know what I am doing as a watercolorist. There’s much. much more to learn but I am really enjoying my progress.
What have you been studying and starting to feel some mastery of?

I was born with mastery of all the skills.
I think I am finally getting good at my pottery but have had to take 3 months off so far because I destroyed my wrist last Nov. My cooking skills are approaching master chef category, people tell me I am a very good photographer and my guitar playing is really good as of late.
I am getting much better with my jewelry making.
Loli, were you born or hatched?

I am beginning to get the idea that my meditation is good.
By the way, I’ve been meditating for 30 years.

I think Loli sprang from Hephaestus’ anvil or from the sparks that occur when his hammer hits hot metal on the anvil.
Advocating for someone. It’s amazing how bold and persistent you can be when it’s someone other than yourself, such as a loved one who needs someone to stand up for him.
I’m also just beginning to feel that I’m getting hold of some technique with colored pencils as an art medium. They’re not like paints or pastels and not at all like graphite, with which I feel pretty confident. I don’t really know what I’m doing, but my last piece of work came out well.
My art is starting to look more realistic. I’m also getting better at creating subtle details like clothes wrinkles. It’s not perfect, but I’m quite proud that I have improved much more than before.
I also realize that my field of specialty is black-and-white cartoons. I’m good at colors, but I can’t quite control the lighting with colors. Graphite suits me better.
I think I have finally mastered the perfect grilled cheese sandwich. And I have a secret to achieve that. And don’t ask, I am not sharing the secret except it involves a colander.
