Thoughtful.
The negative impact is that it leads to procrastination and indecision.
The positive is is that I’m not a moron.
Mostly thoughtful.
But the author Dick Francis used the following adage in one of his books:
“Thought before action, if there’s time.”
That makes sense to me as an approach.
I reason and premeditate almost all my decisions sometimes to a fault. I am also guilty of rationalizing some impulsive behaviors in the past.
I’m mostly thoughtful unless under the influence of alcohol or mad and frustrated or both.
I am usually thoughtful and I try not to be impulsive.
Sometimes, I’m only human and can be impulsive. It depends on what it is, what the circumstances are, what the reward is, what I’d have to give up in order to do it or have it.
@cruiser – exactly in my case also I have been guilty of trying to rationalise impulsive behaviour resulting in no reaction at all. This has hurt me many times as I tend to faulter in case of any surprises.
90% thoughtful, 10% spontaneous. Usually it starts with a spontaneous thought and then, depending on how serious the decision is, I start making lists and doing research.
Hubs is exactly the other way around.
Both. I’m pretty balanced but, am prone to impulse buying of cool artsy things, going for random massages, taking off on day trips and running out for take out dinners at times.
Too rigid is not good, too impulsive isn’t either.
Generally thoughtful, but I am capable of being spontaneous.
“Hm. I’ll have to give that some serious thought,” she said spontaneously.
Thoughtful. The downsides are that I’m not spontaneous (which is not generally as fun) and I’m prone to overthinking and worrying. The upsides are that my decisions are usually better made, but that’s not a guarantee.
My husband and I are polar opposites. He gets all spontaneous and shit, and I say, “OK.” And start planning for it in whatever time I have to do so. Needless to say it sometimes leads to tension and frustration, especially if I don’t have enough time to factor in everything.
Both. It depends on the situation.
Both, depending on the situation.
But if pressed to choose one or the other, I lean toward thoughtful, at least more so than when I was younger.
I am thoughtful by nature and I don’t act impulsively though my heart has overruled my head at times.
Sickeningly thoughtful to the point where half my life goes by before I decide.
My ultimate kung fu speaks for itself.
