Apple Computer stocks. Way back when Steve Jobs was invited to come back to the company he co-founded, the price of the stock had recently fallen. I have never owned an Apple computer but, based on the testimony of others, I knew it was a good product. I am extremely risk averse. This is about the riskiest thing I have ever done. I figured what the most I could lose and not be too bothered (a relatively small amount) and I invested that amount in Apple. Since then the value of the company has multiplied several times. I now have to think about whether I should sell my shares. I don’t expect Apple to grow like it has iin the past. There is too much competition.
Education, friends and family.
Apple Stock has also been my top performer as far as money goes

I’m not going to say the best but the worst was a franchise. I saw clients (of the accoutanting firm) into the franchise trap and get severely burned.
Reading books with my boys every night when they were little helped them become very smart kids. Best investment I ever made.
I invested part time fun money into a new computer, which allowed me to get a job working from home. It’s now paying the bills during my husband’s slow season. Yay.

Waterfront real estate in BC. And, lately, lithium stocks
In high school I invested my time and energy helping my Dad with the house, studying, and doing my homework. My Mom passed away too early so my Dad raised me and my brother.
There were so many times I could have screwed around and gotten into trouble, but I didn’t. I behaved without being asked to.
I did well in school, was accepted into a good engineering school, got a great job, got paid well, got married, had kids, started my own business. And now I’m set.
The time spent in those early years has paid me back many times over.
Buying a house in the San Francisco area in 1999.
Education, bought a house, didn’t get married or have children.
Buying a house in a decent suburb of Los Angeles in 1973; adding a second bathroom and a laundry room in 2005.

My iPad mini. Best tablet ever. I love how small and portable it is, especially for traveling.
