Did healthier eating and weight loss make a difference? Were you treated with medications?

Yes, my friend Mike did. He lost a bunch of weight which alleviated the problem.
Sadly, he’s gained all the weight back, so I’m not sure how that played out.
Of someone is overweight, losing fat could only bring benefits.
Keep in mind that the liver is a filter organ. If a person loses weight too fast, the liver can be affected.
If this person can seek the advice of a nutritionist, that would be ideal. Otherwise, a realistic diet, and exercise plan would work.
Losing weight should make the entire body healthier.
They have to stick to it though. The distance between a goal, and an accomplishment is discipline.
My stepmother has this. She’s lost a lot of weight since being diagnosed, but I haven’t heard an update on her liver situation.
