What do you think of this analogy? (Details)
Men are like dogs.
Women are like cats.
Thoughts?
I’ll hold my opinion for awhile….

It’s not at all accurate. And you are anthropomorphizing dogs and cats, assigning them some qualities which you have assigned and not taking in the totality of the animals’ traits.
Grown men don’t prefer to run in packs. Men don’t eat their babies shit. Men are not loyal to a fault.
Women are not disdainful or aloof when others come in the room. Women do not lie around all day in the sun. Women are not inherently picky eaters.
Well, it demonstrates that lumping all cats or dogs together makes about as much sense as assuming an entire gender shares similar traits.
And there’s that licking the balls thing….

@cinnamonk Was that far enough from the away from the serious, sensible answers above?
@LuckyGuy I’m not Yarnlady…are we not doing the thing anymore? Should I change back? I kind of like this pic.
Also: are you saying that, given the ability, you would not lick your balls?
Jinx! I fixed it!
I’m a guy! I’d never leave the house!
My cat plays fetch and my dog lounges on the back of the sofa, so… I’m not even sure my dog is like a dog and my cat is like a cat.
Some men are liking cats. And I know several women who are liking dogs.
@cinnamonk Please change back. It’s confusing. And it is over.
Well women have pussys & some of us blokes would love to lick our balls so…
So women are the nocturnal claw & fang wielding apex killing machines?
That analogy should be switched.
I think that men are more like cats and women are more like dogs.
Cat are not as smart as dogs
Dogs are social animals. Cats are independent.
Cats loaf around more than dogs.
Dogs thrive on love and attention. Cats want to be fed, reproduce and be left alone to do their own thing.
I’ve never met any man nor woman that chases lasers.
I think one of the better ones I have heard is that
Women are like apples
Men are like grapes.
Women are like apples on trees. The best ones are at the top of the tree . Most men don’t want to reach for the good ones because they are afraid of falling and getting hurt.
Instead, they sometimes take the apples from the ground that aren’t as good, but easy.
The apples at the top think something is wrong with them, when in reality, they’re amazing. They just have to wait for the right man to come along, the one who is brave enough to climb all the way to the top of the tree.
Men are like grapes. They hang around in bunches not really accomplishing much until the right women come along and stomp the shit out of them until they turn into something acceptable to have dinner with.
Very sexist @rojo. And not nice at all.
It doesn’t offend me… I think sexism is part of the point of the thread…
I find a duality in the analogy (cats and dogs.)
There are some definite similarities, and obvious sexism.
I hate that analogy. I’ve heard it before. Well, perhaps we could ask @rojo to clarify the word “easy” in his analogy. Easy in what way?
don’t read too much into it, it isn’t worth the effort
Can you answer the question, though? If not, I’ll just assume you were talking about sex.
LOL. I thought the men as grapes was what was offensive…
Yall are mad about the apples?
Assuming “easy” is referring to sex, I get mad whenever it’s suggested that women who have sex aren’t as valuable as women who make men wait. They aren’t worth as much. That’s just plain mean. Men don’t get shamed that way. Women shouldn’t either.
Yeah, the thread is sexist in that we’re stereotyping personality traits of men and women, but I don’t really find that offensive, really. Just silly.
@Dutchess_III would be be more pc and make you happier if I had said “easy to reach”?
Well, what would that even mean @rojo? We’re talking about women, not apples.
no, we are talking about apples….......and grapes.
I was joking. I couldn’t care less. It is sexist, especially to men, but I pointed it out tongue-in-cheek. I’m not offended at all.
Both men and women have masculine and feminine aspects. Individuals may have more or less of either. More of the qualities our culture associates with masculinity overlap with some of the qualities of dogs than cats, and vice versa. Combine with many people being mostly thinking in sloppy, lazy and/or binary patterns, and so many false truisms spew forth.
