In nursing what is the "talkies"?

Asked by RedDeerGuy1 (24945points) March 31st, 2017

15 years ago I was admitted to a hospital and the nurse gave me some Ativan, at night, because I had the “talkies” then I had a sandwich and a long hot shower. What is it? The next morning I was shipped off to a mental health hospital for 14 days then sent home.

Don’t know for sure but I imagine it is babbling in an agitated state. Hence, the ativan.

It sounds to me like it was her own little reference to whatever you had going on.
