Why the tooth wires and are they a sign of bad dental work or necessary?

Asked by Aster (20028points) April 7th, 2017

I know two men who have very visible wires alone the gumline of their top front teeth. I think they have a bridge but am not sure. I want to know why they are there and how I can avoid them in the future!
TIA

Sounds like what you speculated they are, part of a bridge.
Don’t have bad dental habits, so you keep all your teeth or if teeth are pulled; get implants which screw in the jawbone and attaches a replacement Acrylic or Zircon tooth.

What those people have is a bridge, and wires are why I don’t have bridges. I have implants, which cost more, are more time consuming to put in, but have a whole bunch of advantages which, to me, make it worthwhile.

^^ IF you have the money.

Yes. If you have the money or the insurance. Fortunately I have both.

Oh, great. I’ll have to spend the money to get more implants then. I can’t have people staring at white wires on my teeth. I’ll be dead from old age by the time they’re completed. They take forever.
