Another Limewire?
Can anyone recommend a site like Limewire that allows me to download movies and music for free, without having to sift through all the porn? Even with the filter on, I’m getting a lot of mis-labled files that end up being porn.

Torrents! Ever since people taught me about them, I think they are pretty much the greatest ever. Just download something like Transmission and then you can get whatever you want from torrents like Mininova or isoHunt, for example.
To add to what allie said, if you have a PC, you would need utorrent as your torrent software (as opposed to Transmission)

a wave of disappointment passes me..Mac…how could you?...j/k :) Also, have you heard of qtrax? They are a new site that offers downloading music legally. But they are not really worth using right now, since their selection is very limited. It’s a thing to keep in mind though.
I use scrapetorrent to find stuff. It indexes all the big sites like The Pirate Bay and Mininova and isoHunt. And I second allie on getting transmission.
If you are into torrents, go to http://demonoid.com too. Its a private site with much better download speed.
Also if you are looking for individual songs, try http://skreemr.com – its basically google for music on the internets. Lets you preview a song or directly download it for free

I know most people are telling you to use torrents which i would reccomend as well, but if you want a good P2P service, i recommend FrostWire, its like Limewire except well, it doesnt suck and ive yet to find a virus.
I use a P2P called Ares for my music. It is much cleaner than Limewire and have no problems with miss labeled content. It may have slightly slower download speeds but you don’t have do fear about any viruses.
