What insurance company covers OEM parts?

So, I hit a deer, and off to the body shop. My insurance company only wanted to pay for non-OEM parts and I had to pay the difference if I wanted OEM. I lease my car and the terms of the contract require OEM, and I can take a pretty big hit in the trade in if they figure out that I did a repair without manufacturer parts. So… Who does OEM? I’m having trouble finding a company that does. Is this just not a thing?

I don’t know if there are any insurance companies that will do OEM only. Since 1970 most insurance companies can insist the will only pay for “aftermarket” parts, OEM differences are paid for by the person making the claim. You maybe able t get a special rider from the company for an additional cost. I sold automobile parts in the early 70’s when this all changed; my company had been importing parts for VW, Toyota, Datsun and others; we were making a killing at the body shops.

After market parts are much less expensive and generally there is no difference between OEM and after market. That’s their logic. Good luck.
