Is this “the end of FNC (Fox News Channel) as we know it”?

Asked by Strauss (23835points) April 30th, 2017

The quotation above comes from a Twitter post by Fox News reporter anchor personality Sean Hannity, as reported in the left-leaning journal Share Blue

Does this mean we’ll see an end to “alternate facts”, “fake news” and “ambush reporting

I wouldn’t bet on it. What’s the alternative? Join the mainstream “fake news” media? Trump is showing FOX the light. The truth is whatever he chooses to make up.

We can only hope. I changed my cable to basic + NatGeo and canceled fox news a year ago.

I think the O’reilly scandal has cooked their goose for good. And they can’t whine and complain about the mean ol’ Lefties and Dems picking on Bill, it was a right wing mouth piece who caused the loudest outcry. So the “Lefty/Dems” dog ain’t gonna hunt.

@NomoreY_A Has YA folded or are you a refugee from there?

@Brian1946 – refugee. Those folks are too intense, and they don’t get my skewered sense of humor.

I would draw the parallel to the Mafia. The old-line mafia (Fox News previously) made their money by murdering and graft and buying cops, and selling drugs. But eventually the old line mafia got old and died (or were killed by their rivals) and the younger mafia, although still criminal, went into ‘cleaner’ crimes. So it was the “end of an era”.

Watch The Godfather again, and remember that Michael Corleone got them out of NY crime, and move to Vegas for new businesses. Brando represented the OLD, Pacino, the younger new generation

There is a parallel with the old generation moving on at Fox.

You can tell a lot about a news channel from the character of the people it employs.

That’s true. But sprinkled in with the bimbos and fascists is some credible talent. Greta van Susteren managed to escape. I’m waiting for Shepard Smith and Bret Baier to “see the light”.

@stanleybmanly – I’m not so sure I would let Greta van Susteren off the hook.

She was an Ailes apologist for a while, and she stayed at Fox an awful long time even after the scandals broke. I think you’re giving her a pass, but I don’t think she deserves it. She’s smart enough to have left earlier if things bothered her.

Would it not be nice if they hanged themselves with their own, heh, “fox noose”.
