er…. A sign you should get off the internet and go to the ER.
Have you ever had a panic attack? It is common for individuals who experience panic attacks to feel short of oxygen and to have some mild chest pain as well as a number of other symptoms. However, if this pain and shortness of breath lasted for a long period of time, I’d say that’s not a panic attack. Either way, might be good to go see a doctor and get some routine tests run.
Good answer lightly… common sense…chest pain plus difficulty breathing = big trouble.
sounds like a trip to the doctor. Soon. He will be qualified to tell you it is nothing to worry about.
Does the pain come and go? Do you have any other health problems? Anxiety and panic can definitely cause the symptoms you’re describing but it could also be something more serious. If it is not constant and not increasing in severity then it’s probably ok to not rush to the emergency room. But defintely get this checked out by your doctor ASAP and go to the ER if it gets worse or you develop other symptoms, such as pain/numbess in either arm, severe headache, dizziness, etc. But please don’t rely on the Internet for a medical diagnosis; this is something that needs to be evaluated by a professional.
The best and safest thing to do, go get checked out and soon. It something as (and I don’t mean to sound sarcastic) simple as a panic attack or as serious as a heart attack; however, the only way to find out is to get to the ER and get checked out! Trust me, it’s better safe than sorry!
Please don’t rely on medical websites, they will give you a lot of suggestions, but no true answers. Get to the ER, asap! IF your symptoms worsen, call 911, it’s very unsafe to drive yourself, if it is a heart attack!
good luck!
It’s probably a panic attack, but you should probably go get a professional opinion.
Also having any sort of pain in your chest can cause you to freak out and hyperventilate, thus making you feel like you’re not getting enough air. Try to talk to someone about how you’re feeling and see if that helps some until you can get to the doctor to get evaluated. Just try not to freak out too much because that will probably make you feel worse no matter what the underlying cause is.
Get to the ER right now. shilolo is a real doctor, listen to him.
And don’t get serious medical advice over the Internet. Not with something like this.
ER now…call me (911) I’ll pick ya up! No serious don’t even try to diagnose over the Internet…get to the ER, or if you don’t wanna go to the ER, go to your primary care physcian ASAP.
GERD (Gastroesophageal Reflux Disease) mimics a mild angina (heart pain). I have had both. Neither any fun. Angina brought on by a temp or perm narrowing of the arterial vessels in the heart, reducing blood flow to the heart muscle. This can kill you. GERD just makes you want to die, very uncomfortable. I’m not a doc but spent 15 years as a PA in the cardiology section of a university hospital and have worked with/dealt with thousands of heart patients. Go see an MD and get an ECG/EKG (electrocardiogram). This is beyond stupid to ask perfect strangers about something this serious.
Our beloved Scamp had a mild heart attack 6 days ago. Her primary care physican saw her and sent her home. Scamp then took herself to hospital on advice of a nurse (from work, I think) and was admitted immediately. Get off the computer.——-> ER now.

“I didn’t know what was happening. I thought I was stressed out from too much overtime. I was having pains in my chest that radiated up the sides of my neck and into my ears, and felt sick to my stomach, dizzy and weak, so I left work and went to my doctor’s office. He told me my pressure was way up ( 156/110, normal for me is 110/70) he prescribed some medicine and said to come back in 2 weeks.
The pains got worse, so I called the nurse line from my job. when I described my symptoms, she said to call 911. My SO took me to the ER, and the rest is history. They admitted me because something was off with my enzymes, and the stress test showed some ischemia so they did the cath.”
chestpain or abdo pain (particularly in women where cardiac pain presents as abdo pain sometimes) plus shortness of breath means go to ER NOW dont pass go dont’t collect $200
