Why is my General Manager so hung up on whether or not I like him?

He is already liked by the entire staff. Especially the female staff. I am not sure if he is looking for all of us females to like him to boost his ego, but he kept mentioning how he doesn’t understand why I don’t like him. I never gave him any impression of such. So why is he telling me and other people that I don’t like him? Recently, when I was talking to another manager, he butted in and told him that he doesn’t know why I don’t like him and that he has tried to do things for me, tried to talk to me, but that I don’t like him still. And then that manager asked me if it’s true that I don’t like the General Manager. I was so caught off guard, I couldn’t answer. I just looked at the GM’s face and he was smirking and blushing. As if he was glad to put me on the spot. After that day, the boss of the GM visited. I didn’t know he was. I just saw him and thought he was a visitor. I passed him twice, and each time, he raised his hand and gave me a high five. When he did it the second time, the GM saw and shouted “you gave him a high five, but when I tried, you ignore me!” . I was stunned. I said that I didn’t know the “visitor”, I just did it without thinking. And then the GM said that the “visitor” is one of his bosses. Then we introduced each other and he started asking me about how long I had been working there, and which GM I liked from the start. Then when he asked about this GM, who was listening in, I said I don’t know him well enough to form an opinion. So now, the GM has been trying to avoid me. He leaves work earlier than usual before my shift starts. And has not done anymore closing shifts with me. If we cross paths, he acts upset or standoffish, after shouting my name. Yes! He shouts my name when he sees me. And walks off.

I just don’t see why he feels like needs my attention all the time.
