Are you looking for personal choices, or what did the best on the charts?
Live and Let Die… maybe. I’m going to have to give this more thought.
My favorites are Goldfinger and You Only Live Twice.
Live and Let Die, and The World is Not Enough
“Goldfinger (neh-neh-NEH-neh),
He’s the man, the man with the Midas touch…”
It would be very difficult to top the great Shirley Bassey.
I’m gonna go with Goldfinger, then Live and Let Die.
1) Goldfinger
2) You Only Live Twice
3) Skyfall
4) We Have All The Time In The World
5) Diamonds Are Forever
No one has mentioned From Russia With Love, another of my own favorites.
After hearing Paul do Live and Let Die live in concert in his Wings days, gotta say that’s my fave. I also love To Russia with Love and more recently, Skyfall (loved the movie, too).
@Pachy I got to see Paul do Live and Let Die too. It was amazing! Those explosions going off took me by surprise. What a great song!
As much as I like McCartney and his music, I would have to vote for Goldfinger. That’s the earworm that’s been bugging me since I first saw this Q.
LOL @Strauss I got the same problem since I asked the question. I can’t get the Goldfinger theme out of my mind now, I was even belting the lyrics out when I took my shower… His touch is cold, he loves only gold…Goldfingerrrrr
C’mon… Who can beat Shirley Bassey??
@cookieman C’mon… Who can beat Shirley Bassey??
For performance and recording, you are absolutely correct! She was the voice of 007 for many years. Her recording of Goldfinger! Her rendition of Big Spender is a classic!
You Only Live Twice, For Your Eyes Only, Goldeneye.
The jazzy basic Bond theme, first heard in From Russia With Love and still used for action sequences, is still my favorite Bond music. Still fresh.
Consequence of Sound just posted their difinitive ranking. Check it out.
Three guesses who their number one was…
Can’t get the damn page to load thanks to my crap IP service – go ahead, surprise me… I say Goldfinger.
