Ducks and geese can bond with each other and may even attempt to breed though there will be no offspring. It is breeding season and those birds that are not paired up may fixate on another similar species for some romantic interludes. My friends female duck is in live with one of the female geese as her pair mate died last year at the ripe old age of 12.

Geese and ducks are very socially inclined and also will bond intensely with humans if they are imprint babies. I’m the love of my ganders life. He only has eyes for me being an imprint gosling 19 years ago this July. :-)
