SFS or Sore Flipper Syndrome is a very real thing. A walrus from Chattanooga had to endure 15-weeks of physical therapy just to be able to text again.

I would be more concerned about knee pain.

Earthbound_Misfit's avatar

It’s a very real problem. I think rubbing the affected flipper with fish oil might help.

janbb's avatar

AAACCCKK! I’m going to go soak in a hot ice floe.

@Hawaii_Jake Now that’s just silly. Look – no knees!

janbb's avatar

@Earthbound_Misfit Fish oil – yum!!

Earthbound_Misfit's avatar

Nods! While lying in your hot ice floe. How bad can that be?

Make sure you have some nice fishy snacks too.

janbb's avatar

@Earthbound_Misfit Maybe a hot stone massage from a close friend? Like a sea turtle perhaps? Or a cookie? Or a – what the hell are you anyway?

Hawaii_Jake's avatar

My flippers don’t do massage very well. I can slap your feathers a bit.

janbb's avatar

ooh – kinky! I like that!

Be still my fluttering heart.

You swim north and I’ll swim south.

I’m a squirrel. A secret squirrel. I can bring you nuts, of the edible kind. I’m a girl squirrel.

Can geese spontaneously combust from spending too much time with Cuckoos?

Earthbound_Misfit's avatar

And now we’re back to cooking geese.

janbb's avatar

Never had roast goose but I’m willing to try it.

Coloma's avatar

Well come and get it, there are body parts all over this place today. lol

Earthbound_Misfit's avatar

Me either! I’ve fancied trying it since I saw Jamie Oliver cooking it once on the telly.

We wouldn’t eat YOUR geese @Coloma. We’re not cannibals. They’re your family.

Anchovy paste as required (PRN), sardines in olive oil for severe pain rubbed into joint area and licked off as necessary. ;>)

Carpal tunnel? But surely you mean carp o’tunnel, @janbb!

I have heard it is a common and serious problem for many the Fluthering sea hunter… For instance, this sea lion has a rather pronounced case of carp o’tunnel. His doctor has recommended plenty of rest in the open on flat, icy land, particularly in the northern climes… Of course, he’s worried his doctor may have an alternative agenda with that prescription, so he’s been taking his chances with the carp!

Love_my_doggie's avatar

@janbb, if you’re feeling any pain or strain, please stand up and flap those flippers. Get the blood moving again.

Coloma's avatar

The great thing about water birds is that dirty water just rolls off their backs with ease and leaves no residue. haha

Not sure about carpal tunnel, but the real question is can the penguin cool my drink with fresh ice? Please? Thank you!

It was just me and my iceberg for a whole hour and a half!

Love_my_doggie's avatar

^^^ Do you eat lots of iceberg lettuce? What about Eskimo Pies? Vacationing at Glacier Bay? There’s so much about your world that I don’t know and need to learn.

janbb's avatar

@Love_my_doggie Love me some Eskimo Pies!

(Unfortunately my world is melting, melting….)

And my world is high…
