Did Sino-Soviet rivalry generate conflicts in Africa during the Cold War?
Sino Soviet rivalry was a main undercurrent of conflict during the third Indochina War in Southeast Asia, where the Soviet backed Vietnamese invaded the Chinese backed Khemer Rouge regime in Cambodia. I am wondering if Chinese backed revolutions and coups in Africa generated counter-coups and counter-revolutions from the Soviets?
