What have you heard about and thought 'that's just wrong!'?

Asked by Earthbound_Misfit (13177points) May 18th, 2017

I was listening to the radio today and the presenters were talking about paleo hotdogs. Yes, that’s right – paleo hotdogs. Apparently, a paleo hotdog is a sausage wrapped in lettuce instead of a bread roll. I’m sorry, but that’s just WRONG!

What have you heard about and thought ‘that’s wrong!’?

That is just a variation of a Krautroulade.
You know what is wrong? Deep fried butter.

Earthbound_Misfit's avatar

Deep fried butter? I agree. Wrong.

Krautroulade looks delicious. That’s not wrong. Sausage wrapped in lettuce rather than bread. No. Just… no.

A fb friend worrying that smallpox will come back, because of the anti vaccine movement.

Years ago a colllege friend’s grandmother was post bypass surgery so she ordered deep fried chicken fingers as a healthy choice for her heart. It was chicken after all.~

HRT should be given to all menopausal women because it protects against heart disease and osteoporosis. That never sounded right to me.

Rayon. I hate Rayon.

The deep fried butter has me thinking about deep fried Snickers candy bars. Is that real thing?

Earthbound_Misfit's avatar

I’ve never heard of a deep fried snickers, but there is definitely a deep fried Mars bar. I’ve never eaten one. I wouldn’t be at all surprised if someone’s done the same thing with a Snickers bar.

Which brings up deep fried Twinkies. That’s just wrong.

Sorry but I have to…
I was in LA recently and sat in the audience of the Price is Right. Before we went in we were told the rules: Anyone with family, relatives, work or have worked for the network or has business interests with the network was excluded from playing to avoid conflict of interest.* (Listed below.)

If those are the rules for a dumb game show how can the POTUS assign responsible positions to family members and business partners. That is just wrong.

Rules from Price is Right. Excerpt…
“The following individuals are not eligible:
i. Employees or former employees (within the past year), directors or officers of Good Games Live, Inc., FremantleMedia North America, Inc., THE PRICE IS RIGHT Live, Venues, and/or booking agent(s) for Venues or any promotional agency, advertising agency or prize supplier involved with the Show or any of their respective parent companies, subsidiaries, or affiliates, and Immediate Family members of these employees or sharing the same residence with any employee involved in coordinating/executing promotions or tournaments.
As used herein, “Immediate Family” is defined as: mother, father, spouse, domestic partner, children, son-in-law, daughter-in-law, mother-in-law, father-in-law, step-parents, step-children, sister, brother, grandmother, grandfather, grandchildren, and any relative or other person residing in the employee’s place of residence.
Vendors, partners or anyone having a business relationship with Producer, FremantleMedia North America, Inc. or anyone the Producer deems to have an unfair advantage in playing the game are also ineligible to participate in the Promotion.
ii. Any members of the media associated with advance press and reviews to promote the Show.
iii. Individuals who have received complimentary tickets in exchange for any good, service and/or pre-existing relationship, provided, however, individuals who may have won complimentary tickets in connection with sponsorships or promotions shall be eligible to participate provided they meet all other eligibility requirements.”

Kinder egg is banned in US and marked as dangerous, according to what my owner has heard. That’s just plain wrong.

LuckyGuy's avatar

I never heard of Kinder egg until @avoice mentioned it. I now have a new one.

We can’t buy a chocolate Kinder Egg candy with a prize but we can buy a Glock 29 Subcompact with 10 round capacity in 10mm and a couple of boxes of ammo to go with it. That’s just plain wrong. .

Putting ketchup on a well seasoned quality steak. That’s what A-1 sauce if for. That’s just wrong!

NomoreY_A's avatar

@LuckyGuy Everone done knows you cant kill a deer without a scud missile launcher

Coloma's avatar

@NomoreY_A Haha, yes, and ketchup on eggs. Blech!

Did you guys know they make Ketchup Flavored Pringles Potato Chips? My daughter just spied them in Italy the other day. They are popular in many other countries and now they are coming to the U.S. Beyond wrong! shiver.

LuckyGuy's avatar

@NomoreY_A Apparently you don’t need a scud missile launcher. Just feed it a Kinder Egg.

Earthbound_Misfit's avatar

I’m loving these answers! I can send you Kinder Surprise eggs @LuckyGuy.

LuckyGuy's avatar

Id love it but did you see the penalty?!?!?! See excerpt from Wikipedia

“Kinder Surprise eggs are legal in Canada and Mexico, but are illegal to import into the US. In January 2011, the US Customs and Border Protection (CBP) threatened a Manitoba resident with a $300 (Canadian dollars) fine for carrying one egg across the US border into Minnesota.[22] In June 2012, CBP held two Seattle men for two and a half hours after discovering six Kinder Surprise eggs in their car upon returning to the US from a trip to Vancouver. According to one of the men detained, a border guard quoted the potential fine as US$2,500 per egg.[23]”

I’d love to see one but, clearly, it is safer to be sending guns. May I send you a Ruger LCP for your purse?

Earthbound_Misfit's avatar

Oh dear. Well, that’s disappointing. Oh, I’m sure the Ruger will be fine coming through customs, especially since we allow such deadly things as Kinder Surprise Eggs! :D Oh my! Contraband. Maybe this could be a new career, smuggling Kinder eggs!

LuckyGuy's avatar

Now you understand why I think “That’s just wrong!”

jwalt's avatar

I have a feeling that it is not about safety and that it is more about a copyright or trademark infringement. Fines that high seem to be less about safety and more for protection of corporate interests.

This seems to be the case for Cadbury eggs. Although I am not sure if the import ban applies to everyone or only importers that will distribute the eggs.

Earthbound_Misfit's avatar

^ That’s wrong. Now I want to know what @avoice was going to say.

avoice's avatar

Nothing. Lucky Guy said he’d like to see a Kinder egg, so I linked a video of kids opening it. I later saw it was unnecessary, so I edited.

I have a friend who drinks custard. That’s probably pretty normal but ugh I hate it.
