Why do we like to complain about politics so much?

The left like to bitch about the right, the right love to bitch about the left and so on.
The only real power joe blow working slob has is to mark a ballot every four years, until then they (the government) shove whatever they want down our throats, and expect us to smile when they do it.
Does the complaining do any good?
The right don’t believe a word from the left.
The left don’t believe a word from the right.
Are we getting anywhere?

The true believers won’t sway no matter what they are shown ,you could show some one a video of their leader molesting a minor and they would just put some kind of spin on it, and go into deflection mode.
Is all the complaining for the few that are sitting on the fence, to try and convince them to come to your side?
Probably because that is the option available.
We’re dissatisfied. Complaints are the begining of making things better, provided those complaints come with genuine hope and not cynicism.
For joe blow working slob it is probably the only option, besides the voting ballot.
I have been complaining about peoples poor driving skills for years ,and nothing has changed, my life is truly put in danger at least twice a week while at work by some clueless idiot driver.
And complaining seems to be my only option, but I have been told don’t dwell on it life is too short, your not going to change anything.
“People complaining about politics” is different from “the left complaining about the right and the right complaining about the left”.
Really people should be organizing to change how things work, because our whole system is mightily messed up and corrupted and being manipulated for short-sighted and destructive corporate profiteering and so on. The left vs. right and other dramas are part of the way the people are being suckered into distractions and disagreements instead of doing anything about the core problems. That’s why our choices were Clinton or Trump, and why there’s enough anger and confusion that Trump could win, leading to even higher mountains of obstructing drama and corporate abuses.
@SQUEEKY2, to address your above post, to whom do you complain (other than Fluther) about people’s bad driving? I don’t know much about your provincial government,(which I think applies here, as you are a longer haul driver than the average person in a passenger vehicle), but are there not groups, committees etc in charge of traffic regulation there? Do you belong to a union or association of drivers that as a group can address your concerns to those in charge? Maybe spearhead a movement to get things put in place, whether traffic cams or more patrols or easy call-ins for reporting dangerous drivers or somesuch.
The point is, you’re not alone out there, you have sympathetic colleagues who probably experience this stuff too. Combine your voices to be heard.
Complacency is worse than complaining about politics. There’s a lot to bitch about.
