Is meatless Monday still a thing?

I am going out to do some errands. On my way home, I plan to stop by this new-ish pizza place called Project Pie. It’s one of those places where you pay a flat price, in this case $8.95, and you can have whatever toppings you want. I plan to get a pizza with roasted Brussels sprouts, Jalapeños, fresh garlic, fresh basil, mushrooms, and ricotta. My mouth is watering right now!

Not for me.

Well, I’m pretty sure that cows still endorse it.

Once a week at our house, we observe ‘Tasteless Tuesday’

(but that’s a complaint for another day…..)

WTF is meatless monday and when did this come about?

So then…..(sniff).......I presume that you have no interest at all in ‘Tasteless Tuesday’ ??

@rojo Meatless Mondays came about around 15 years ago. It was just a way to get people to start eating healthier.

I used to see ads for restaurants showing their veggie laden dishes on Meatless Monday. Also, I used to see Facebook posts all the time with pictures of people’s vegetarian dinners, and recipes for ideas.

It wasn’t a holiday, or an official thing. It was just a way to promote healthy eating.

I just haven’t seen anything using that term in a long time.

I am a vegetarian, so it’s always meatless Monday for me.

Growing up, every Monday most of our family members didn’t smell too great due to ‘Soapless Saturday and Sundays’
