I was thinking about the ranking of the twelve Presidents in my life time. I have lived through Nixon and GW Bush, and Trump is far worse than either of them.
Right now, he ranks with some of the drunkard Presidents of the 19th century.
He is the worst politician in centuries, he “show boats” and keeps selling “snake oil”, i.e. “Obamacare is imploding”.
OH he also tweets like a thirteen year old!
I think he is the worst president our country has ever had. Before Trump came along, I would have picked George W. Bush.
Trump is a misogynist, he’s ignorant, he’s rude, he’s clueless about the duties of the President, he uses people, he doesn’t follow the rules, he has no tact, he doesn’t think before he speaks, he doesn’t give a damn about people, especially poor people and people with disabilities, his ideas about “making America great” are potentially damaging to the country and our citizens, his choices are based mostly upon greed, and he’s mean.
Trump is the worst because he’s the most extremely and obviously incompetent and defective in so many ways. That he was ever considered a potential candidate, that he was elected, and that he’s allowed to actually be president, shows how ridiculous our politics and news media have become.
The list of examples is endless and keeps on coming. Someone who did even a dozen of the extremely ridiculous demonstrations of unfitness should never be able to become president of a civilized country. Let alone the countless thousands of examples we have from Mr. “grab ‘em by the pussy”, “I could stand in the middle of 5th Avenue and shoot somebody and I wouldn’t lose voters.” But our news media, public discourse, and political corruption and two-party domination have sunk to such a level that he did.
Bush Jr. is still the worst in memory, but he took 8 years to accomplish his disasters. Trump has only had a few months.
Bush Jr gave us the Iraq War and ISIS, and the worst economic debacle in over 70 years.
Trump has eliminated all confidence in the US as an ally and he is destroying decades of progress in quality of life issues like the environment.
He will probably surpass Bush before January.
If he’s still president. Which is not likely.
I can’t even think about Chump without getting an ulcer. Dammit, now I’m hurting again. He makes Bush Jr. look like a class act.
@NomoreY_A I was just watching House of Cards and realizing Trump makes Francis Underwood look desirable.
At this point in his term, he is unmatched for ineptitude, and there is little question that he’s going for the record.
The country has had its share of ignorant or otherwise flawed Presidents, but Trump’s defects are beyond the pale. Not only are these imperfections visibly offensive, but he is so loosely wrapped mentally that he will flaunt his warts at the slightest provocation. As a result, he gives the impression that his principle obligation is about demeaning his office, and he works tirelessly toward this achievement. Things are at a point now that the primary requirement of any and all who deal with him lies in mastering the tricky pretense that the man is sane.
Hmm. Close, but he has not ordered the nuclear annihilation of 2 cities full of civilians, yet.
Is that your sole definition of a defective President?
All of them were defective, because none of them pushed for the resubmission to the authority of the British Empire.
There should be institutions in this world eager to pass out grants to anyone willing to fathom the plumbing of your mind.
Yes. Bush Jr. was bad, but he allowed people to make decisions for him. Trump refuses all advice.
There have been good presidents and there have been not so good presidents but Trump is in a category all by himself. The ‘I cannot the f*^% believe this is happening’ category.
We must distinguish being harmful from potential to be harmful. Fortunately, Trump has not yet had the opportunity to be as harmful as some other U.S. presidents. I have no doubt that if the opportunity arises and Congress does not hold Trump in check, he will easily become the worst U.S. president. Here is one assessment of the 10 worst presidents
Seems like 6 months is hardly adequate to assess Trump’s effectiveness as President. I still see Carter as the worst with strong competition from both Obama and Jonson. I find it hard to assess the early presidents since they were before my time so I’ll stick to those that I have been able to personally witness.
You may have a point. I didn’t believe he would last 6 months. Then again I didn’t believe him electable. Wrong and wrong again. But Trump is certainly the first of the 17 Presidents in my lifetime to find himself this early with the question of his mental soundness beyond a mere political ploy. The pretty much universally agreed worst President to serve a full termwas James Buchanan who not surprisingly was a strong proponent of today’s cornerstone conservative doctrine——limited government, lower taxes, states rights, you know the list.
make that 14 Presidents in my lifetime.
Barack Hussein Obama is worst by far. Donald Trump is trying to repair the severe damage caused by Obama.
What language does Dutchess Megan speak?
Eloquently as Obama I hope!
He’s from Hawaii. He spent several years in Indonesia as a child. Don’t know that he’s ever gone to Kenya, but I bet he has by now.
Actually, I’m just one of those annoying people who fit the profile for the kind of person who voted for him. Annoyingly intelligent and annoyingly well educated.
I can’t imagine any president being worse than Trump. He is self-centered, crude and unread and anti-science, but the most disturbing thing is the volume of lies that he keeps telling.
There is something seriously wrong with someone who has no regard for telling the truth. What he says one day will as likely as not be contradicted by what he says the next day. He tells lies about everything, minor or major. It is almost laughable that Trump’s lawyers consider that having him testify to Mueller would be a “perjury trap”, because they assume that Trump would be unable to restrain himself from lying. Do you know anyone outside of a mental institution who acts this way?
Frankly we’ve been lucky that no bluntly catastrophic opportunities have yet befallen this particular “President”. Worst is a low bar frequently realized through the severity of arising crises. But Trump is without question the most disgusting excuse of a human being to plop his orange ass in the oval office. He also is distinguished as the least qualified individual for high office that managed to achieve the Presidency.
He didn’t even WANT to BE president. He ran as a joke.
I listened briefly to some discussion Hillary had with someone at some college. She’s intelligent, articulate, has a good sense of humor…everything Trump is not. She’s not an Obama but why, or why, didn’t she win?
She didn’t win because far too
many of us assumed she would-her and Obama included.
I think you’re right. We got complacent, although I, personally, did cast my vote.
Hillary is a crooked tyrant. Trump is a much better president.
Trump works for Putin !
He want to get more Trump Towers in Russia.
Trump is much better than Obama and Hillary.
Drumpf is a russian agent, just like you.
