Is it legal for me to don a blindfold downtown?

Well it’s legal by itself, but it’s not a free pass to you break laws while doing it. If you aren’t careful, you might get into some infractions such as jaywalking, disturbing the peace, etc. If you are careful and have a friend help you stay out of trouble, you’ll probably be able to stay out of trouble and experiment.

You might want to start out doing it in safer places, such as at home. Also realize that blindfolding yourself downtown wouldn’t give you the actual experience of being blind. Even if someone suddenly lost their vision downtown, they would probably start yelling for help and ask to be taken to a doctor immediately. Most blind people have other experiences of becoming blind which involve plenty of help.

Might want to try that in your house or your yard, before you risk getting run over by Joe’s Taxi or a city bus.
