Have you any idea what might be required to generate sounds sufficient to extinguish a blaze the size of a forest fire?

@stanleybmanly No. That’s why I asked the question.

for a fire in a frying pan.

This toy is prohibitively energy intensive for any practical use. They could have stopped that fire by smothering it with a pair of standard issue engineering school khakis.

Making the flames go away wouldn’t do much for a forest fire as soon as the sound was removed. The massive amount of heat isn’t going anywhere and would definitely reignite the wood.

So I’m going to say never ever ever and not in a billion years.

Never. Too much damage to wildlife.

It would almost certainly be the practical aspects of such a project that makes the idea laughable. To begin with, consider the power necessary to generate a sustained bass note over hundreds or thousands of acres.
