Does anyone have a recommendation for a nice place to spend the night, somewhere not too far from Dover?

I’m also interested in fun things to do around there. We’ll be crossing over from Belgium via ferry and then going north to spend time with family.

Canterbury is nice – medieval town with winding streets and a cathedral. Royal Tunbridge Wells might be worth a visit too. I have heard it’s a pretty town.

Yes – why not go on a pilgrimage to Canterbury? I’ve heard it’s particularly nice to do in April. But seriously, could be a fun place but Dover itself might be worth exploring. i haven’t been there but I see there’s a castle. Margate isn’t far either and was a seaside resort destination in Victorian times.
