Has anyone done the exchange lodging thing where you switch homes with people from other parts of the world?

You find someone who wants to come to your part of the world and you get stay at their home/apartment during that time. Best thing is that it’s free. :)
I’m thinking of doing it. Now, who wants to visit Ontario, Canada? Lol

There are student / cultural exchange programs in which students from different parts of the world live with other family for a period of say couple of months and try to understand their traditions / way of living. I’m not sure it’s done through which org and what are eligibility criteria for that.
A friend of mine has done this, she has a beach house on Cape Cod. Her family went to Italy for a month. They loved it! They used either this site or this one. (Not sure which)
Sorry I don’t have personal experience for you. Tere are a ton of options, this is a thing, now. Good luck!
I think that is a great idea! Your place is much more interesting than mine!
I want to trade with @Hawaii_Jake
I’ve had friends who did it some years ago. I think it was part of a teacher exchange program. It worked very well.
A very close friend of mine has done it for over twenty years. Always a positive experience. I definitely would consider doing it. They have stayed all over Europe this way, usually about a month at a time. They live in Florida.
I’ve done AirBnb but not home exchanges but would consider it.
