What delectable comestibles would you like to see on a cafe/restaurant menu or as a special on the chalkboard?
My go to dish would have to be steak.
But not just any steak.
I’d like a medium surf and turf eye fillet of beef with king shrimp in a garlic sauce, runner beans and crispy fries.
Bliss.
What about you?

Butternut squash and kale lasagna with sundried tomato cream sauce.
Root vegetable fries with chipotle aioli.
Maple crème brûlée.
I’m a very adventurous eater. I love a brunch place here that was featured on the Food Network. All their food is locally sourced. I remember one dish with eggs over rice that had laulau leaves (tastes like hearty spinach) and a bunch of other local goodies including pork on top. It was heaven. I always get a special there. I seriously need to go in and have one regular dish that my daughters had with eggs in a cheese creme sauce.
Fresh saute’d abalone over a wild rice pilaf, grilled asparagus on the side.
grilled dog and horse legs.
@ragingloli So basically a hot dog. Who knows what they contain.
I’m happy to start with the tuna tataki. Every sushi place I’ve been to does it differently (assuming they offer it at all) and the variability in that one dish is interesting in itself. Plus, that means that I’m in a sushi restaurant to start with, and I like that.
Just about anything vegan, with the exception of the common, bland “house salad” of iceberg lettuce with a sprinkling of shredded carrots and vaguely-green stuff.
Freshly made (within minutes) donuts, with a chocolate glaze, and maple-cured bacon crumbled on top!
Then I’d stick with healthier options for the rest of the day!~
And grilled leg of goose.
I love well made crab cakes, so far, no restaurant can beat my best friends recipe.
I am also a cole slaw connoisseur and one of my first questions in many restaurants is asking if they have a home made cole slaw on the menu. I would love to travel the world seeking out the perfect cole slaw, so many amazing varieties.
my fav is a thick filet ..med to rare… w/ bernaise sauce and garlic mashed potatoes…creamed spinach…yum!
I made goat meat stuffed squash with a friend the other day. Pretty yummy.
