Glass of wine (about five glasses in a bottle), Chateauneuf-Du-Pape, that cost $600 for the bottle in the restraurant. It was a great wine, luckily I was the guest and my host paid.

Absinthe…

I had some whiskey at a classmate’s house. Never again.

Perrier.
300 to 2000 times more expensive than tap water.
(Double the price of a gallon of gasoline, apparently.)

Either a glass of wine that was ~$300/bottle or some 20 yr old scotch that cost me $15 a shot. I only paid for the scotch and while good, I did not think the price was worth it. There is great wine in ten dollar bottles and good liquor in twenty dollar bottles.

I had champagne at my wedding. The cost has been incalculable.

A glass of 1961 Chateau LaFitte. And a glass of 1953 Chateau Margot. I didn’t pay for either. But I drank the second one with Speaker of the House Tip O’Neill. I waited on his table, it was late and he was in a story telling mood, so he shared his wine with the young wait staff and told amazing stories ‘till 3am.

I’m not a big drinker but my cousin’s husband is a wine connoisseur and we gave him a bottle of Chateu d’yquem. Not sure if I’m spelling ti correctly. It was about 600 dollars a bottle and my parents and my aunt split the cost and gave it to my cousin’s husband for his birthday. He of course, like a good and gracious host, opened it up right there and we all had some.

We took a taxi from my parents’ house to NYC for the birthday party. My parents’ house is about a half hour by car from NYC. The taxi was boucing over bumps going down the West Side Highway, and we asked him to stop so we could get out and make sure the bottle wasn’t breaking. We told him there’s a six hundred dollar bottle of wine in the trunk. LOL

I didn’t try it because of a lack of funds but saw a place that served $200/shot tequila.

A $70 shot of sipping tequila (someone bought it for me, I would never pay that). It was really good – practically a different species than what is normally thought of as tequila.

@ZEPHYRA Yes, they had just signed a major contract.

I am notoriously cheap, but I have had very expensive wine, champagne, and tequila. Each was over $100 a glass/shot.

What is the most expensive drink that you have tried?

Well, you may ask.

Water.

I was into the stuff from an early age but when I got the first bill, good grief, did I really have that much?

They say that absinthe makes the heart grow fonder but since kicking liquids I’ve been able to splash out on other luxuries.

I’d slip in a quick and dirty joke about how to spell and pronounce the double entendre that is Château d’Yquem‎ if it wasn’t in contravention of the spelling rules and the netiquette of good taste and decorum.

Here’s cheers to effervescent evanescence.

No idea. I have had a sip of Dom Perignon. I could have had more, but I’m not a drinker. I figure half the vacations I’ve taken were funded because I don’t drink alcohol. I’m proud to say my beverages are inexpensive.

I don’t drink alcohol, so the most expensive drink I’ve ever bought was something at Starbucks. I love everything I’ve ever tried there, but most of the stuff is way too expensive for my budget, so I usually stick to iced tea.

^^I forgot about Starbucks. I don’t really like anything there, but I have spent too much money on tea when I wind up there for other people. Plus, I have bought frozen drinks now and then. I think they were sometimes $4 or $5.
