Has anyone had a twitching eye for a month?

Asked by tan253 (2958points) July 30th, 2017 from iPhone

If so did it just go away?
I’ve had one for 1 month. It’s not getting better or worse. If I touch it, it twitches. I’m taking magnesium but obviously that’s not working, I’ve stopped coffee (kinda – on decaf) eating well but sleeping very poorly, but that’s not new. Should I be at the doctors to make sure it’s not a neurological issue? I never thought that it could be till I googled. My mum has a hemifacil twitch so I’m worried it could be that. Visited an optometrist and he said just a stress twitch…So, in short – anyone else suffer with eye twitching for a month?

Yes, I was dealing with a lot of stress last year and my eye twitched every day for a few months. It gradually went away

Yeah I figure if I touch it and it twitches then it’s muscular not neurological, plus im always stressed!!!

Back years ago. Try reducing your caffeine.

No coffee @JLeslie – taking magnesium for a week, but not sleeping but really a month, normally I get it for a couple of days maybe a week but a month!

I didn’t say coffee, I said caffeine. That includes everything caffeinated. Tea, Coke, Pepsi, even chocolate has a little. I’m not saying you have to go completely off of it, although for you it might be a good idea considering your anxiety level. Maybe you don’t take any caffeine? I don’t know. I’m not assuming, I’m just trying to clarify.

I’ve probably asked you this, what numbers do you get back when they test your thyroid? Is it a little towards the fast side?

Make sure you are well hydrated too, this happens to me when I’m stressed out.
