The usual raw veggies; carrots, celery, cukes, peppers, fennel, radishes, broccoli and cauliflower florets, zucchini and yellow summer squash. Celery stuffed with decent peanut butter is delicious (or almond or cashew butter).
Fresh unsprayed berries at this time of year; organic peaches, nectarines, grapes, cherries. Water with twists of lemon or lime, nuts, (brazil, pistachios, almonds, walnuts), serious whole wheat toast with unsugared jam. Lo-fat cottage cheese with cinnamon. Corn on the cob with no butter or salt.
Raw veggies and hummus, smoothies made with lowfat milk or yogurt, Greek yogurt with a little honey. Air popped popcorn, a small baked potato w/ two tablespoons fat free plain yogurt and a sprinkling of Cajun seasoning, a small amount of part skimmed ricotta cheese on 1/2 small whole wheat cinnamon raisin bagel with a thin slice of apple, Wasa crackers with nut butter and sliced strawberries, Vegetable soup, low sugar high fiber cereal, Trail mix or nuts in small quantities, apple slices w/ peanut butter, raisins, or a nice cup of hot herbal fruit tea.
To add to Carla’s great list, I forgot sliced apples sprinkled with cinnamon. If you can find organic ones, you can and should eat the skins.
I agree eat the skins always. That’s where the fiber is.
If you are snacking it b/c you are usually hungry.
I agree with gailcalled, snacking on those things will suppress your appetite. It is a lot healthier to eat these than chips…even baked chips.
@Red: could you be pregnant? If your appetite has suddenly changed dramatically, maybe discuss it with your MD?
no thats the weird thing I had a tubal so I can’t be pregnant.
i love frozen grapes! they are such a delicious treat and good for you too. I heard you can also freeze watermelon… try it!
