Why did CBS pull pirate master off the air?

Asked by Perchik (4997points) July 24th, 2007

8 episodes in to a "survivor-like" show, and they just pull it off the air. There is a huge following. Any idea why it got pulled?

it was taken off of the air because you are the only one that watches it. but it will air online with new episodes being posted every week. so you can catch it there. cbs.com

Are you kidding me? I loved that show!

I'm not the only one who watched it. There is quite a large following.

Secondly, I'm aware that it's being posted online, but that excludes users from outside of the US and the video player only works in Internet explore with Windows media player, instead of any other browser/media player combination.

So WHY was the show pulled off air and put on internet?

hehe.

Any ideas as to why it was pulled? I mean if the ratings weren't great, couldn't that be blamed on the fact that it has aired on 2 different days at 3 different times since it's creation?

LOW RATINGS - a show can have a huge following and even great reviews from the critics but if the show fails to have a high rating, the corporate bosses will cancel any show - take arrested development for example

Great research mirza,
I never watched the show actually don’t watch much TV at all. But I was interested in the question.
I wonder if by moving it to the web will help them keep making money or even improve the chances that in the future a show will start on the web in hopes of getting to TV. This way maybe less junk will be shown on TV. Sort of like a farm team for baseball develops players.
