Sasquatch, Yety, vilas, nymphs, elves and dwarves.....what if they actually were some lost tribes and communities we couldn't keep record of, but our ancestors have seen them and kept them in their folklore?

What if they actually existed, and were humans, but they belonged to some unknown tribe, hidden in wilderness, that got lost before anyone succeeded to document them. So, ye olden ones knew they existed, have seen them or got in contact with them, and kept stories of them, but we can’t find them now, because they are lost. What if they still exist in some small numbers, roaming around, but we believe they don’t so we don’t look for them?
