Will Donald Trump have his Twitter account deleted?

Asked by filmfann (52488points) August 14th, 2017

Actor and Obama aide Kal Penn (Kumar) has pointed out that Trump’s recent tweet regarding North Korea violates Twitter policy about threatening violence in a tweet.
On the other hand, Trump is probably one of the most followed tweeters. Suspending his account would certainly bring quite the backlash on Twitter.

Something tells me that Twitter would rather have the President of the United States using their platform than not. Also, threats of violence are usually prohibited for legal reasons. But it’s not illegal for the president to threaten North Korea. So in all likelihood, his statements are not actually covered by the policy.

If nobody knew about Twitter before, they certainly do now.
I bet Twitter would refuse to close the account even if he asked. He’s a gold mine to them.

Yeah Josie. Your lower lip is damp.

Five years ago every news channel was tweets constantly. No longer the case. Really it was 24 hour tweet-storm on CNN and is why I stopped watching. Here is a good example.

And yeah.. A gold mine that still can’t turn a profit.

I think Trump will continue tweeting to the very end, through impeachment and beyond. I just hope his successor sees sense and leads the country in more traditional and constructive ways.
