How can we get the McGreggor / Mayweather fight?

Asked by Dutchess_III (47126points) August 26th, 2017

Boxing is my least favorite of all sports. I loathe it. But Rick really wants to see the fight, but he’s saying we’d have to pay $100 to get it on pay-per-view. Well, that’s not happening.

Any other suggestions?

Live radio?
Like the old days!

I can’t find any freebees or backdoors for streams or radio broadcasts. Not even in the .ru. I found this pdf that claims free viewing and gives a list of sites, but they all look pay-per-view to me.

This fight is highly protected. The loser stands to make $100 Million just for showing up. The promoters can’t afford any piracy at all.

My god, that fireball of an Irishman can go back home, buy a castle, and influence the future of his homeland with that kind of money.

(well my cousin….)

We’ll I guess it’s on tonight. They’re showing pre fight stuff.
:(. So here I am.

You can go to a sports bar that is showing it.

Dutchess_III's avatar

There is one here but they’re charging a $25 cover.

@Dutchess_III I guess your going to have to wait for the highlights on the news. You might be able to watch it for free in a year.

Dutchess_III's avatar

I ain’t waiting for nothing!

Espiritus_Corvus's avatar

It will be on YT before dawn. You just have to monitor YT closely and download it before the bots get it, or wait till next month.

RedDeerGuy1's avatar

@Dutchess_III You can go to a friends house and watch for free.

Dutchess_III's avatar

It’s about over now. I didn’t realize it was tonight. I don’t think we know anyone who would pay $100 for it anyway.

RedDeerGuy1's avatar

The radio says thay it hasn’t started yet .

Dutchess_III's avatar

Our guide says it started at 8. IF I. They showed another fight before it and then they cut it off.

Darth_Algar's avatar

Watch it, all 60 seconds of it, on YouTube afterward.

Dutchess_III's avatar

60 seconds? What happened?

RedDeerGuy1's avatar

@Darth_Algar Wow like Mike Tyson first round wins.

Dutchess_III's avatar

WHAT HAPPENED???

johnpowell's avatar

I can hook you up if you are okay waiting about 15 minutes after it ends.

Dutchess_III's avatar

It’s not for me. Just trying to help my husband out.

Espiritus_Corvus's avatar

Please! Hook us up!

@Dutchess_III

Nothing happened. That was just my sarcastic comment that these things, for all the hype and cost to watch them, never seem to last more than a few moments.

Dutchess_III's avatar

Like baseball. The only sport where to can pack 10 seconds of action into 15 minutes.

Here is the line-up:

-Floyd Mayweather vs. Conor McGregor (154 pounds, 12 rounds)
-Gervonta Davis vs. Francisco Fonseca (130 pounds, 12 rounds)
-Nathan Cleverly vs. Badou Jack (175 pounds, 12 rounds)
-Andrew Tabiti vs. Steve Cunningham (200 pounds, 10 rounds)

Andrew Tabiti vs. Steve Cunningham was just posted about 3 minutes ago.

I can put up Mayweather vs. McGregor shortly after it is over. Probably about ten minutes after. If interested send me a PM and I will send you a link when it is done.

@Dutchess_III

I think you’re thinking of gridiron.

RedDeerGuy1's avatar

Fight is over. Not giving any spoilers.

Espiritus_Corvus's avatar

Wow. 10th round TKO.

I actually like MMA but man this reminded me why I always found boxing super fucking boring.

I feel bad for people that paid to watch this.

It doesn’t help you get 70 million for losing. If you lose you should get nothing and have to pay your own medical bills. zzzZZZzzz

Edit: And if there is one thing I hate about MMA is they have shit cardio. It is the one thing you can control. You can train to go balls out for 20 minutes. But a lot of these guys get tired after ten minutes.

It was one sided match to say the least and overhyped. Was a record win though for Mayweather!!

I had some friends who were able to watch it free on a modified Firestick…

For future reference, bars have to pay for such events depending on their capacity. So it can get into the thousands quickly. That’s why you’ll almost never see this stuff in a bar, for free.

Most people went in on it together, at a house. But I heard that some cable providers messed it up…

MrGrimm888's avatar

I think I heard tickets for the fight started at $20,000…
