It seems like Texans are getting the help they need regarding Hurricane Harvey. Trust me, there will be plenty of stories of people upset they weren’t helped more or sooner, and some of the stories will be decidedly tragic. It’s a real mess in parts of TX, it’s very sad.
The Texans I’ve seen interviewed on TV so far seem satisfied with their local government officials and the fed. I haven’t watched a lot of the coverage though.
Do you think the hurricane helped the Republicans or hurt them? Or, neutral?

I’m trying to figure out why Texas is getting federal money (as in – this is Socialism and redistribution of wealth), when Texas has been so adamant about the free enterprise system and capitalism.
Wasn’t it Texas Sen. Cruz who didn’t want to send emergency money to NY during Huirricane Sandy?
Bunch ‘o hypocrites.
I once saw a cartoon of a man standing outside his bruning house and saying to the fire company, “No thanks – we’re libertarians!” Kind of makes the point. Also, the line about no atheists in a foxhole.
But as to helping Trump, certainly if he botches his response, it will hurt him. I’m not sure if local and FEMA success will help him. It certainly takes the focus off of Charlottesville.
He already has Texas locked in- he has played to the Texas Republicans for the last two years. His warning to the FEMA head was “don’t mess this up.”
In the Trump era, nothing is a lock except that we are now firmly locked into rule by a racist, egomaniacal dictator.
BTW, “Trumping” in your OP makes me think of a big crazed elephant.
23 of 24 Republicans in the US House and Senate voted against aid for Sandy victims. We shouldn’t be giving them anything more than hopes and prayers today.
They were supposed to secede in 2009 anyway. They let us down by staying.
Who besides me is waiting for Trump to blame the hurricane damage on Obama?
I am eagerly awaiting Pat Robertson’s admission that God is punishing Texas for voting Republican and closing Planned Parenthood clinics.
