Have the prices in Whole Foods really dropped since Monday?

On the news, they’re saying since Monday (yesterday), the prices of some items have gone down as much as 40%.
I’m away on vacation right now. I don’t often go to Whole Foods anyway, because of the prices.
They also talked about some special specifically for Prime members, which is me, so I’m curious.

There’s one 3 miles from my house here in Boston. I’ll check it out and let you know.
According to the local paper, yes. But there isn’t one anywhere near me, so I can’t say for sure.
I think that even if some items are 40% cheaper, they were 80% more expensive than Kroger before, so my guess is that the true savings to the consumer will be less than stellar.
Yes, I saw some prices lower last night, although I was making a quick foray to get almond butter and that was about it.
The price of apples was lower by about 50 cents a lb.
I heard salmon went from $14.99/lb. to $9.99/lb.
Of course, I can still get salmon for $7.99/lb. at Wegman’s.
No evidence of Amazon at my local Boston store. Same outrageously high prices.
I have seen chat from self-proclaimed employees about the price changes, which also mentioned that some prices are actually going up, too.
Yay! There isn’t one near me, and I rarely go there because of the prices, but Whole Foods is a vegetarian’s paradise.
I’ll check it out next week and hopefully stick up
@Kardamom I assume you’re not planning criminal activity? D
