If you please, do you want to tell what profession you have?
Are you an ace in your field, or a rookie?
Do you find yourself answering questions about your profession, or do you keep from it (for whatever reason)?
I’m a woodworker, from the Netherlands.
I don’t know all the lingo in English, so it’s hard for me to answer questions on Fluther about it.

I was a mommy for some years, then an interior decorator/home stager, then, after going belly up in the great recession I have now been working as a pet and house sitter for the last 3 years. Sure, I love sharing my expertise in certain areas, knowledge is to be freely shared.
Former officer in the Swedish Merchant Marine. Former Registered Nurse. Presently a licensed Captain of vessels of up to 100 tons displacement and six passengers on the Spanish Main. Arrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrg!
As a salt who has spent many a night under the stars at sea with nothing much to do but share stories with me crewe, I like sharing those stories and experiences here on this site.
EDIT:
I very rarely answer medical questions here. There is no way possible to diagnose effectively through the screen of a computer and it is highly irresponsible to do so. Besides, my knowlege of pharmacology is way outdated, so that is a huge no no as well. To those who come to this site and ask for medical advice, even for the simplest of maladies, I invariably recommend they see a doctor.
As to geography, history, Cinema Noir, sailing, the mysteries and delights of the sea—I am an eager, open book.
Electrical engineer, I was/am an industry expert in a specific application of data acquisition but I moved to poweline protection, scada and related telecommunications where I’m a rookie.

I keep servers running. I have somehow landed myself in jobs where you don’t do much. But when the shit gets nasty you are glad you pay me to fix things ASAP.
I was an architectural draftsman and model builder to start. Then I became an illustrator and, later, a graphic designer. I’ve also had some writing and photography published. I also teach this stuff in college, having been an instructor then chair then dean over the course of seventeen years. In January, I move from a college to a university as an associate professor.
I’m also a huge comic book geek and finally took the plunge into creating my own comic. I’m working on the third issue.
I’m happy to share whatever I know about these subjects but I do tend to shy away from questions that resemble schoolwork. I get enough of that in class.

Some of my writings made it to cartoon episodes. I never got paid or credit for them. Its a secret that I can’t prove. So life goes on.

A teacher who just barely started. I graduated only 3 months ago. I’m still learning.
I don’t have any expertise really. I just jump in anything I can answer.
CPA. I worked for mid-size firms and a large, national firm, and I hated every minute of it. I’m now on my own and very content.
Professional: thirty years experience in veterinary medicine, ten years experience in exotic animal (carnivore) conservation and husbandry, eight years experience in management, five years experience in social media marketing.

@Love_my_doggie :: I originally went to school to be a CPA. Then I took a actual accounting class and hated every second of it. So I switched to econ. I still had to take two years of accounting classes for a econ major but it was kinda like physical ed. Horrible but you got to do it to get to the finish line.
I actually do enjoy econ.
^^^ While I was in graduate school, I taught 3 sessions of Accounting 101. I was amazed by how many students hated the subject and had no aptitude for it; they failed several times yet kept retaking the class, hoping for some sort of magic to happen. They were there because they knew they could get jobs as accountants, and because their parents wouldn’t let them study liberal arts or whatever interested them.
Personally, I like accounting and am very good at it. What I couldn’t tolerate were public accounting firms. The job is much like working for large law firms – the same brutal hours and demands – but without the compensation.
