Friends John Baur and Mark Summers came up with International Talk Like a Pirate Day on June 6, 1995, when they began using pirate slang while playing racquetball “for reasons we still don’t quite understand,”

Avast anti-virus, ye skallywags cap’n Hook at ye service.
Over and out.
Note: What does avast mean? Should it be alas?

Avast means “stop”, or “hold it right there, mate,” as in; “Avast yer cacklin’, ye babblin’ old hens!”

Anyway, you’re late by ten days. That shall cost ye pirate gold, mate.

I upvoted you to great answer, that counts as two pirates golds, so you’re now indebted to skallywag babbling britches!
Take care Cap’n Crunch.
