I’m watching American Werewolf In London and I can’t imagine a better werewolf movie.
Give me something better.

I’m not sure I’ve seen enough of them to have a favorite. I’ve never seen An American Werewolf in London, but I’ll give it a try on your recommendation.
I did like The Company of Wolves, maybe partly because I’d read the book by Angela Carter (The Bloody Chamber, a delicious recasting of selected fairy tales). Of course there’s the wonderful original werewolf movie, The Wolf Man (1941), with Lon Chaney, Jr., from back in the days when your imagination was more important than special effects. And don’t forget I Was a Teenage Werewolf (1957), with a young pre-Ponderosa Michael Landon.
American werewolf in London is mine too.
What, you got a problem with Dracula or The Mummy?
One of my favorite depictions of a werewolf is in Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban, played brilliantly by David Thewlis.
I like Wolf a lot, but really any excuse to watch James Spader.
American werewolf in London i like this one too
Dog Soldiers
although I also enjoyed Underworld
The Wolfman with Lon Chaney Jr.
Harry Potter and The Prisoner of Azkaban.
An American Werewolf In London (1981).
I’ve not seen many but I liked Ginger Snaps.
“Never Cry Wolf” which has nothing to do with werewolves but is a delightful movie based on a Farley Mowat book.
Underworld: Rise of the Lycans (2009)
This question made me realize that I haven’t seen nearly enough werewolf movies. Added to my Halloween movie watch list!
“Werewolf Woman” is a 1976 Italian movie starring Annik Borel in the title role.
American Werewolf is tough to beat. But The Howling and The Company of Wolves are definitely on the top werewolf movies list for me.
