Which side up?

When you see a package with a sticker on it, saying “This Side Up ^^”, is the “side” referred to, the side where the sticker is on (it states ”this side), or the side the arrows are pointing to?
I’m confused.
Things could break, or leak….

Pretty sure the arrows are pointing up, as in they should be on the side of the box. Not the top?
It depends on whether there is an arrow or not on the sticker.
Without an arrow, the side of the rectangular solid to which the sticker is attached should be “up”, i.e., facing the sky and parallel to the ground.
With an arrow, the side of the rectangular solid to which the sticker is attached should be perpendicular to the ground, and the arrow should point to the sky.
Arrow—toward arrow.
No Arrow: the side the sticker is on.
I’ve never not seen arrows along with the sign.
”^^^This Way Up^^^” is less confusing..
Oy! Between this and the bed question, I’m all covfefed today. Think I have to go back to bed – but which side?
Well, I had someone tell me that in an earthquake the best thing to do is get in bed with the covers over you! I’m like, “Yeah, that then blankies will help when the second story falls in on you.” Cofefe.
