Do you sing the the alphabet song to remember the order of letters?

No, because the Canadians ruined the rhyme with

”...W,X, Y, and Zed,
Mother what to you think of me?”

I learned to be facile with the order of the alphabet as a Cub Scout learning ciphers, followed by working in a library alphabetizing check out slips.

Heck no. I have memorized the numerical place of each letter in the alphabet.

It’s sing songy-ish in my head, but not exactly like the song. The first half of the alphabet I know without singing, towards the end sometimes it helps to sing it.

By the way, it’s not “the Alphabet song.” The tune is called “Twinkle Twinkle Little Star“in English, Ah! vous dirai-je, maman, in French.

I can recite it without a musical cadence. But it’s in the back of my mind, when saying it.
