If you own a super car, or a hyper fast muscle car does it mean you are eventually going to commit major traffic crimes?

Or can you own, and drive it responsibly?
If so, then why not the majority of firearm owners, can they not own and use them responsibly as well?
I am all for strict screening for all when it comes to safe and responsible firearm ownership.
But very much against any kind of firearm ban.

You’re Canadian, so I’m going to spoon-feed this to you.
Cars can only be driven when registered, insured, and piloted by a licensed, demonstrably competent individual. The right to pilot a vehicle can be taken away if the pilot is no longer demonstrably competent for a variety of reasons.
None of those things is true with assault rifles. If you’re over 18 and have money, you can get a big ol’ boomstick and all the ammo you can carry.
Your “strict screening and responsible ownership” is exactly what a very loud portion of the American population is vehemently against, and the reason why those things don’t exist here.
No. Of course not. Silly question.
Well, a car like that goes fast, and that’s why they get them. I think the chances of them speeding and causing an accident are a little greater than average, just like a gun owner’s chances of shooting himself or a family member getting ahold of it and shooting someone, even by accident, are higher than average.
Yes. Speeding, at the very least.
Every vehicle ‘ve owned, no matter how powerful, I have turned the throttle wide open.
So have I @LuckyGuy. A few times. It’s different in a muscle car though.
If you own a super car, or a hyper fast muscle car does it mean you are eventually going to commit major traffic crimes?
Of course not. Pretty clearly something we all know.
@ragingloli Yes. Speeding, at the very least.
Speeding is not a major traffic crime.

Most of them do, as pretty much everyone also knows.
Am I right that you didn’t really state the actual question? You want people in favor of some sort of firearm ban to explain their reasoning?
What? Guns are made to harm people, that is their purpose. Cars are made to transport people.
I have two Porsches in my garage. I don’t go any faster in my Porsches than I do in my Kia, with the exception that I come out of the traffic circles here a little faster, so I’m going from 20 to 35 in one second instead of three, or whatever it is.
Most people who own guns don’t harm anyone. So what? What’s your point?
Why do people buy automatic weapons? Is that to protect their homes? Kill a deer? Who is buying those weapons? Why does someone have ten guns/rifles in one room in Las Vegas?
This guy that committed the crimes in Las Vegas has apparently no police record, not even a traffic ticket, initial reports say. Of course, if he has something on his record, they’ll find out.
~Thats why I intend to own a nuke… for duck hunting , and self defense of course.
I own a scary super bike. They called it the “widow maker”. Still, I opened the throttle as far as it would go. Hunched over the tank I’d twist the throttle and watch the horizon drop away.
Braap, Braap, Brapp, and I’m up to 90!
And that makes you more likely to get into an accident, possibly involving others.
No, owning super cars or guns does not mean you will commit crimes with them The majority of people do not commit crimes. They should not be penalized for the actions of a small minority. I have a friend in Italy who owns a limited-edition Lamboghini sports car. it accelerates from 0 to 60 m.p.h. in 3.3 seconds and will reach 211 m.p.h. I looked it up on the internet. A used 2010 one sells for $600,000. She travels the world and has never been arrested for any traffic violation. I have several American friends who own many guns, and none of them has ever used his or her guns to commit crimes. It is unreasonable to want to ban such a car and any guns when the overwhelming majority of humans do not commit crimes with them.
