What clothing should we pack for a December trip to Austria and Germany?

My wife and I are going on a “Christmas Traditions in Austria and Germany” trip in early December. We will be visiting Wien (Vienna), Salzburg, and München (Munich) and much of the trip involves visiting Christmas markets and cultural sites at night.
We’d like to hear from jellies familiar with the area, especially residents.
What kinds of clothing should we pack and should we expect much snow or rain?
Thank you for your help.

Winter clothing. Hats, gloves, warm socks, boots, coat, etc. Probably not much rain, but be prepared.
You’re going to be outside a lot at the markets so you definitely want some warm clothes. Maybe fleece underneath and a rain coat on top. Hats and gloves. My experience of Northern Europe in the winter was mainly in Paris where it was generally not super cold but gray and damp. Not rainy but just chilly – maybe around low 40s. Check online before you go.
Global warming has all but eliminated winter in germany.
Autumn clothing will be more than enough.
I live in Germany, and I have always needed winter clothes for Christmas markets. So…water-proof coats, plus a warm sweater underneath. Gloves, hats, winter shoes. It might be very wet or not at all, but it’s best to be prepared for the worst.
Have lots of fun!
I know that I could look up temperature averages, but I think those are probably 20-year (or more) averages, plus they don’t tell me anything about the wind chill factor or recent trends. Does it get very windy? How much snow do you get in those cities?
Would it be appropriate to wear a ski jacket & gloves?
I wasn’t suggested that you check average temperatures but that you check weather.com or another site for a 10 day forecast right before you go.
Yes, @janbb, I plan to do that. Thank you.
