I’m guessing it is a card game. What is the game? Is this a good hand or a bad hand?

Cribbage. Meaning a good hand and a jack is a bonus point. It might be 11 points.
Sounds like poker.
Or @RedDeerGuy1 has played with a “pone” !
@LuckyGuy It’s a perfect 29 hand in cribbage.
@RedDeerGuy1 favorite opponent.
I was taught how to play Cribbage by the wife of the Pastor in college; at the coffee house that was held on Saturday nights.
Fifteen two, fifteen four, fifteen six, fifteen eight, trips makes twenty.
Three of a kind in poker, Jack high?
It’s a perfect 29 hand in cribbage.
No it isn’t. See above, I count out the hand. It can only be the twenty nine if the turn card is five, and suited with the jack.
Those specifics are not included in the question.
It’s 3 fives (which is ok) Jack high. But poker is usually played with 5 or 7 cards.
It is not a poker hand. If it were, the jack would be the kicker, not jack high.
“Jack high” means it’s the kicker. It’s the last word. Unless “kicker” has a different meaning for you @Patty_Melt .
Dear, I play poker.
There is no such thing as a fiur card hand, a full house can only work with five cards or more, also straight flush and royal flush.
Now, a kicker is a card which determines the winner when two players have an equal hand. The kicker is only known as high when there are two equal hands, the one with the highest kicker gets to claim “whatever” high.
Eg., if two players have a pair of queens and a pair id sevens. One player has a jack, the other has an ace.
It is called as two pair with a jack kicker and two pair, ace high.
I know that it’s a 5 or 7 card game. I said that above..
Dear, I play poker too. Perhaps it’s a regional term. When I have 4 of a kind with an Ace high, that’s how I phrase it. I don’t call the Ace the “kicker” card.
